Biography

WATERTOWN – Mrs. Agrafina “Fina” (Visockis) Yankauskas, 87, of Buckingham St., died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Edward F. “Yogi” Yankauskas.
Mrs. Yankauskas was born in Watertown, November 12, 1922, daughter of the late Thomas and Frances (Geshinskas) Visockis. She was a lifelong resident of Watertown and had managed the office of her husband’s business, Atwood Typewriter Exchange, until their retirement in 1983. She taught an adult education class on how to make braided rugs and enjoyed knitting. She was an avid fan of the UConn women’s basketball team and the Boston Red Sox.
She leaves her son, Walter E. Yankauskas and his wife, Rande Lucas, of Anchorage, Alaska; her daughter, Susan J. McLenna and her husband, Mark, of Watertown; two grandsons, Maxwell E. McLenna and Alex C. McLenna; and several nieces and nephews, including Jayne Brightman and Daric Rigon. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest and Algred Visockis, and her sister, Ogana Rigon.
Funeral services for Mrs. Yankauskas will be held Tuesday evening, 7:30 p.m. at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown. Burial in the Lithuanian Independent Cemetery is private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening 5-7:30 p.m.
