Biography

WATERTOWN – Francis R. Current, 90, of Watertown, died Friday, March 05, 2010, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Katherine (Klein) Current.
Mr. Current was born in Indianapolis, Ind., January 25, 1920, son of the late Francis H. and Madeline (Lang) Current. He was raised in Staten Island, NY, graduated from Brooklyn Tech., and served in the Navy during WWII. He worked for the New York City Transit Authority as a bus driver until his retirement in 1971 when he moved to Watertown. After moving to Watertown, he drove school bus and worked at various local manufacturing companies.
Mr. Current was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. He was a member of the Watertown Historical Society and the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association in Kent and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Besides his wife, Mr. Current leaves his son, Robert Current and his wife, Bonny, of Wolcott; his daughter, Patricia Rudzavice and her husband, John, of Watertown; and two grandchildren, Adam Rudzavice and Bethany Baldwin.
Funeral services and burial are private. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown.
