Biography
WOODBURY - Christopher S. Meyers, 49, of Old Town Farm Rd., died Tuesday March 2nd, at St. Mary’s Hospital, following a two year battle with leukemia. He was the loving husband and soul mate of Karen Hadad-Meyers.
Chris was born in Bridgeport on November 15, 1960. He was the son of Royal A. Meyers Jr. of Watertown and the late Elaine (Izzo) Meyers. He was raised in Watertown and attended local schools. He was a graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1978, and from Mattatuck Community College and Technical Careers Institute. Chris was a refrigeration and maintenance mechanic at Baskin and Robbins for 14 years and spent the past 10 years as a part of the Bozzuto’s crew.
Chris was active in sports and boy scouts as a youth. Chris swam on the Watertown High School Swim Team. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing darts and was a HOG member for the past five years. Chris was a past member of the Waterbury Dart League, was a NASCAR enthusiast and a fan of the Miami Dolphins Football team and the Colorado Avalanche Hockey Team. He was an avid motorcyclist and snowmobiler.
Besides his wife of 12 years and his father, he leaves two daughters, Stacey Lee Meyers of Woodbury, and Jessica Lynn Tracy-Meyers of Bethlehem; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Izzo of Beacon, NY; a brother Jeffery Meyers and his wife, Debra, of Woodbury; three step-children, Katie Williams of Southbury, Michael Aquilar of Bethlehem, and Tricia Grove of Woodbury; two nephews, Benjamin Meyers and Jonathan Meyers; seven grandchildren, April, Timothy, Carol-Lynn, Sarah, James, Justin, and Wyatt Christopher; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loyal friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 6th, at 2:00 p.m. at The First Congregational Church, 40 DeForest St., Watertown. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. The Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St.,Watertown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
