Harold Newton “Woody” Woodward, 79, of Northwest Dr., died Sunday, Nov. 8th, at Waterbury. He was the husband of the late Delores “Dolly” (Voide) Woodward.
Mr. Woodward was born in Waterbury, October 9, 1930, son of the late Hurbert D. and Mary Elizabeth (Russin) Woodward. He was a lifelong resident of Watertown and a graduate of Watertown High School. He served in the US Navy and was employed by The Siemon Company for many years prior to his retirement. He loved to garden, was an avid reader, and enjoyed a good John Wayne movie.
Mr. Woodward leaves four sons, David A. Woodward and his wife, Stacey, of Brandon, VT, Larry C. Woodward and his wife, Robin, of Watertown, Craig B. Woodward and his wife, Angela, of Watertown, and Mark W. Woodward of Plymouth; two daughters, Mary S. Woodward and her husband, Ivan Cyr, of Watertown, and Janet M. Keefe and her husband, Kenneth, of Thomaston; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Desruisseaux of Canada; and 11 grandchildren, Michele Cyr, Jeffrey Woodward, Taylor Woodward, Rachel Woodward, John Gallagher, Beth Quenneville, Jennifer Woodward, Lauren Woodward, Jillian Woodward, Justin Connor, and Monica Keefe. He was predeceased by his sons, Harold T. Woodward and Gary J. Woodward, and his brothers, Herbert Woodward and John Woodward.
Funeral services and burial are private and at the convenience of the family. The Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
