BETHLEHEM – Brenda Jean (Niquette) Tanuis, 59, of Hickory Lane, died Sunday, Oct. 25th, at her home under the care of VITAS Hospice Care of Middlebury. She was the wife of Jim Tanuis.
Brenda was born May 10, 1950, in Vermont at the Mary Fletcher Hospital one of seven children born to Dorthy Claria Niquette of Largo, Fla., and the late Albert Morris Niquette. She was employed by Southbury Training School for 18 years until her disability retirement on March 1, 2009.
Besides her husband and mother, Brenda is survived by her young son, James Tanuis of Bethlehem and her two children from a previous marriage, son, Paul Russell of Shelton, and daughter, Denise Earle of Dayville; as well as five grandchildren, Victoria Russell, 16, of Shelton, Paul Russell Jr, 12, of Shelton, Alexandra Russell, 6, of Shelton, Alicia Earle, 7, of Dayville, and Tyler Earle, 2, of Dayville. She also leaves her siblings, Craig Niquette of Waterbury, Karen Whitcomb of Riverview, Fla., Lance Niquette of Largo, Fla., Mike Niquette of Brewster, Mass., Robin Mascato of Beacon Falls, and Randy Niquette of Southbury; and 20 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Brenda will be held Friday morning 9:00 a.m. from Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, to Church of the Nativity, East St., Bethlehem for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
